| The Third Age Trust's annual Short Story Competition 2025 has been launched and the theme this year is Lost and Found. . Details are on the u3a Learning Activities webpage. As usual, the Trust is working with Bloomsbury Publishing who are providing generous prizes and one of the final judges, author Sara Grant. On Friday 3 October, Sara will conduct an online workshop to help you polish-up your story after it's been written. At this Zoom event, Sara Grant (author from Bloomsbury Publishing and u3a Short Story Competition judge) will discuss a systematic approach to editing, which she’s developed over the last 20 years as a writer, editor, lecturer & mentor. This is the focus of her recent book, ‘The Ultimate Guide to Editing Your Novel’. She will share a series of practical tips & simple exercises to help you improve your short story.
