We were delighted to be asked to set up a display of our Living Stones project at St Elli's Church as part of the Celtic Festival. One of our members, John, went to St Elli's on the Wednesday to greet the 'Pilgrims' who were walking from Brynmawr. Together with Stephen and Gill Maxted from the 'Churchyard Chums' they expected just a handful of 'Pilgrims'. At about 1pm, a host of them arrived. There were 15 or more of them, rather wet and muddy. Stephen gave a small talk about the Church, and John gave a brief one about the graveyards and the work of the two groups. Both talks were well received and after they were fed and watered, they went on their merry way to Llangattock.
The open day on Saturday had fewer visitors. Apart from a walking group who were just passing and seeking refuge from the rain, John had no other visitors. Just three visitors arrived while Linda was there - one local and another couple who were staying in the airbnb at the Five Bells.
These events are always worth taking part in and it was interesting speaking with the visitors we met.
