The Art Group meets twice monthly. Members are suitably spaced, we manage to create interesting art and have a good catch up.
We are all at different levels, from absolute beginners to those who have exhibited, and this mix of abilities gives each of us the opportunity to learn about and to discuss painting and drawing. Some members prefer drawing with charcoal and others with pencils. Some of us prefer watercolours and others like pastels or acrylics. It is always interesting to see the different styles and techniques and to chat over a cup of tea.
The contribution from those attending is £3 each to cover the cost of the hiring of the room.

Exhibition Success
The Art group, along with the Crafts4All group, held a very successful exhibition on Sat Nov 8th at the Community Centre. In addition to viewing the wonderful art work and crafts that were on sale and display, visitors had a chance to stop and chat, enjoying delicious refreshments at the bistro tables provided by Roots café which created a wonderful atmosphere. It turned out to be a well-supported and enjoyable event for all!
En plien air event
By kind invitation of Karena Goring, the art group enjoyed a very warm "en plien air" painting experience on July 11th at Forge House. Shade was found under trees and umbrellas and along the river bank, but the constant supply of iced water and iced lollies was very welcome.
