The Family & Social History Group had a very interesting and useful visit to Gwent Archives in Ebbw Vale last Monday. We were fortunate to be shown around by Rhiannon Phillips, the Education & Outreach Archivist who explained to us how the centre is run, how artefacts are restored and organised together with the facilities and help that is available to the public. It is an amazing resource for anyone interested in local or family history and many of us will definitely be visiting in the near future. Rhiannon was able to show us the original Burial Registers for Llanelly Parish which we appreciated and found fascinating. A very worthwhile visit.
