Who we are
Gilwern u3a Formed in 2016, Gilwern u3a welcomes new members and ideas for increasing the number of groups open to all.
The u3a movement is a unique and exciting organisation which provides opportunities for retired and semi-retired people to come together to enjoy good company and to learn together, not for qualifications, but for its own reward.

Images and documents on this site are believed to be either the personal property of members who have consented to their use on this site or to be those where permission is granted for public use. For the latter type and where possible, there is an acknowledgement of that permission.
If you are an owner of any unacknowledged image or document, or we have used an image or document without the correct permission, please contact the webmaster who will make every effort to correct this or remove the image of document.
If you upload an image to this site, please ensure that you have checked that copyright resides either with a u3a member who has granted permission for its use or have contacted the copyright owner for written permission. Images or documents downloaded from the Internet do not necessarily come with that permission granted and you should not assume that publicly available is the same as publicly usable.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish a post or page, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Posts and pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Contact Form
If you use our contact form to send an email to a named person or officer of the u3a such as the Secretary or a Group Leader, we will record the name, email address, and email subject entered when the form is submitted.
Records are kept for 90 days, and usage is monitored to protect against spam emails.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
For users registered on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
